May 26, 2010
For the Final Friday in May, urban photographer Landon Taylor will open his solo exhibit out of [con]text on May 28. Landon describes his work as "Exploring the tensions between spatial, textual and pictorial elements of graffiti; creating questions of the work's origin, local/global conditions the work references while considering the role of the urban visual landscape as the canvas." ...Sounds awesome!
Gallery crawlers will be able to bomb their own tag on an interactive graffiti display and have it projected on a giant screen, based on the work of popular culture artist Evan Roth. During the show you can check out the music mix of Chaz Beatface on our roof-top patio, and don't miss the 10@10 gallery talk with Landon starting at 10pm.
Coming Up
Tangent Lab will be taking a break from the heat this summer, so we won't be hosting gallery shows for the Final Fridays of June or July. Please get out to see the other great galleries in Wichita, and catch us again in August.
