The provocative exhibit Les Voyeurs opens at Tangent Lab during Final Friday this month, portraying the female form expressively from a woman's point of view. Jaki McElroy has enlisted three of her friends, Zee Tamplen, Melissa Slates and Aleycia Crawford to join her in celebrating the feminine figure captured in a variety of media. "We're all people-watchers, and a part of this show's theme is that it's ok to look and not be offended," says McElroy. "I wanted to have an exhibit where all the artists were female, and the artwork is modern, playful and exotic."

Artist's Statement from Jaki:
"The major reasons this show is happening: There are women out there who don’t have time to be Suicide Girls, don’t have insurance to be Roller Girls, don’t  have money to be party girls, so we are voyeurs. We watch and we learn, we see and we create. If we all had our way we would have our cake (children) and eat it too (do art all the time).  Such is life that we can have these infrequent exhibitions to showcase our passions and talents, such is life that one cannot breast feed their child freely yet we are bombarded with images of Hooters women, Lipo women, Who We Are Told We Are Supposed To Be, Who, We Are Programmed to Think Is Attractive.  Well, we see things differently, and are collectively glad to have this opportunity to share that beauty that is your wife, your girlfriend, your mother, sister, lover, friend and confidante, look at her and love her."
