Provocative paintings and photographs are the on the menu as the exhibit Forbidden Lunch opens this Friday at Tangent Lab. Organized by Cody Seekins, along with Aaron Bolton and Linden Lorenson, the show promises to be exciting and engaging. The frenetic and talented Ryan Windham will be playing accoustical guitar during the evening - visit his myspace page for more info. Don't miss our 10@10 gallery talk series, starting at 10 p.m.
Exhibit information from Cody:
The show represents a cooperative of distinctly different artists with some common threads. Cody and Linden have worked on creative projects and processes since 1998, and share a strong appreciation of the painting and design process. Aaron and Cody have been involved in feedback on work and synchronisms of creative inspiration for the past 5 years, and this show is a prelude to a more major creative union. Overall there are complimentary elements which inter-accentuate the intentions and drives of each individual.
The show itself, Forbidden Lunch, more than just an allusion to the mystery and oddity of Burrough’s famous novel and film, embodies explorations and outputs of mind and reality which dive into taboo and idealism both—a non linear manifestation of broad and intimate perceptions and thoughts into a singularly held event in Wichita. The context of their arrival is akin to that of a lamb in wolf’s clothing, and dance within various interstices of greater social acclimations.

Tangent Lab will be taking a break from the heat this summer, so we won't host events for the Final Fridays of June or July. Please get out to see the other great galleries in Wichita, and catch us again in August.
