October 8, 2007
In conjunction with The Ulrich Museum of Art and KPTS Channel 8, Tangent Lab will be previewing the film "Romance," a part of the Art:21- Art in the 21st Century series. This episode poses questions about the value of pleasure in art and features artists whose works are extended meditations on mortality, love, reality and make-believe. You can read more about this on-going series (now in it's fourth year) at http://www.pbs.org/art21/.
Admission is free and there will be refreshments, discussion, the preview and an opportunity to sign up for "Art:21" door prizes. Paul McKee will be leading the discussion of the film after it's completion. McKee is a 2008 MFA Thesis Candidate in Sculpture and Graduate Teaching Instructor at WSU.
Coming up:
The Final Friday of October will bring Ian Stewart to Tangent Lab, with a solo exhibit titled IT'S THE NATURE OF SUCH THINGS (WE'RE MOSTLY WATERR). His eclectic and spirited drawings, paintings, photographs, collages and ramblings will have a home here October 26th, starting at 7pm.
