The exhibit 143 = I Love You opens at Tangent Lab this Friday, just two days before Valentine's Day. Over 60 artists have contributed 143 pieces to be included in the show, utilizing the show's theme in their work. Each piece is only $20, with proceeds going to benefit the gallery. The number 143 is short-hand for I Love You, using the number of letters in each word of the phrase. It also happens to be the address of the gallery! ...143 North Rock Island.
Artists who have donated their artwork will get first chance to pick out their favorite before the public opening at 7p.m. Scott Allan Knost will be our musical guest performing in the gallery during the show. Come out this Friday and take home a piece of art to give to someone you love!
Coming up:
Jaki McElroy will be the featured artist during the Final Friday of February with her exhibit Alpha/Bet, opening the evening of the 26th. The main body of work in her show will include panels depicting a variety of animals, objects and plant life that correspond to letters in the alphabet. Musical guest will be Jenny Wood.
